The Best Hidden Study Spot at UB

What does the perfect study spot look like to you?

Does it have large tables for collaborative projects? Is it extremely quiet? Does it have a private bathroom around the corner? Does it have large windows that get plenty of sun? A plethora of electrical outlets for all of your devices?

If that's your idea of the perfect study spot then the place for you is the third floor of Baldy Hall. I hesitate to reveal this spot, as there are only a few tables available. Usually there is always an open one, but I worry this post may create pandemonium. I joke, but now that I'm graduating this year I have less incentive to withhold this secret location.

This area of Baldy is in an odd location that no one would visit unless they were visiting a professor on that floor or were lost. But those who do find this hidden gem unlock a study spot that transcends all other UB study spots.

I have spent numerous nights here for hours on end. The spacious tables and numerous outlets make it great for hunkering down when you've got a massive workload to get through. If you're there long enough it even has decent views of the sunset as it lights up the sky.

The large tables make this a great spot for big group study sessions. It's convenient for friends to come and go as they please while you are hunkered down doing work, which I do weekly. There's always room for friends on Baldy's third floor.

If you are a communication major, it has the added bonus of being directly next to every single one of your comm professors. Or if you need to use the law library, that is also directly next to this hallway.

But perhaps the most important component of this study spot is the private bathroom around the corner. Due to it's hidden nature, and mostly being utilized by faculty/staff, the bathroom is always in peak condition; clean and well stocked. It also has a locking door, which I have taken advantage of to change between remote work meetings and class.

Should you use this spot, treat it with the respect it deserves, use it to it's full advantage, and remember not to tell too many people!
